PUBLISHING NOTICES
BLOODLINE SCROLL
The Bloodline Scroll chart, as detailed on this Graal.co.uk site, is the only genealogical Scroll licensed by Laurence Gardner. A similarly described chart separately advertised by MediaQuest, and appearing on E-Bay, is not authorized by him. Neither is it "prepared by Laurence Gardner" as is deceptively stated by MediaQuest. It contains encapsulated post script errors which are not in his original master, as well as being smaller and of inferior quality to the legitimate Scroll. Only the specified item detailed on this Home site carries the author's approval and sanction.
NORTH AMERICAN EDITIONS
The North American editions of Bloodline of the Holy Grail, Genesis of the Grail Kings and Realm of the Ring Lords are not now being advertised on this Graal.co.uk web site.
These USA editions, issued by the Fair Winds Press imprint of Rockport Publishers, MA, are no longer authorized by Laurence Gardner, who has received no royalty income for ongoing sales of these books in the past three years. The author's lawyers have advised Fair Winds Press that, since the permissions which facilitated these secondary imprint agreements was terminated in January 2003, their "continued publication amounts to copyright infringement". Legal action is currently under way to resolve this situation along with other copyright violations relating to unauthorized editions published by Barnes & Noble in North America.
MEDIAQUEST
In 2003 the legal department of Laurence Gardner's publishers, HarperCollins Publishers Limited, confirmed that certain advertising of Laurence's work by Multi MediaQuest International Limited of Cenarth, Wales, was "in breach of the Trades Descriptions Act by having a misleading trade description". At the publisher's instigation, the matter was investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority, with a submission to the UK Office of Fair Trading.
By virtue of this and other unprofessional practices, all temporary publishing licences previously granted to MediaQuest by Laurence Gardner were formally terminated through lawyers as recommended by the Society of Authors. MediaQuest are not now at liberty to publish books, e-books, audio, video or other products bearing the author's name or containing his copyright material and literary titles. Neither are they permitted any sanction or authority to claim any direct or unique representation of Laurence Gardner or his work in whatever form.
